Rimini

Together with Riccione and Cattolica, Rimini is a very important destination of the Italian bathing tourism and, in general, European (in way particular graces to the tourists of German origin and in the last years from Europe of the east).

The city grew during the XIV century, and following the increasing of religious orders, numerous convents and churches were built. Consequently arrived in the city illustrious artists to plan and to decorate these buildings. The great painter Giotto was the inspirer of the pictorial school riminese of the fourteenth century.
From 1295 it became a dominion with Malatesta from Verucchio, patriarch of the family Malatesta.
From the literary point of view, you/he/she can be remembered that the forlivese Jacopo Allegretti founded in Rimini, in the XIV century, that that many consider the First literary Academy of Italy.
One of the most famous monuments in the city romagnola is the Temple Malatestiano, planned by Leon Baptist Alberti around 1450 to want of Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta and ever completed.
Always of the XIV century, in the actual plaza Three Martyrs (then Giulio Cesare plaza), the Tempietto of the Craving one was erected, in the place where it is narrated the miracle of the mule it happened to work of S. Anthony from Padua.

Rimini is situated in a level zone on the adriatic coast, in the south-oriental part of the region Emilia-Romagna. It is wet from two rivers: the Ausa and the Marecchia, that it gives the name apart of the province (Valmarecchia; the other area is said Valconca, from the name of another course of water). The course of the Marecchia in recent epoch has been diverted for eliminating the periodic floods. The terminal part of the river has entirely been reclaim: once marshy (also inside the city) it is a vast green park crossed by cycle footsteps now, endowed with recreational areas for children and with an artificial lake that the Bridge of Tiberio frames, while the mouth you/he/she has been maintained flooded, even if in the form of channel "blind" long around 500 ms, to make to keep on living the I Bring Channel of the city.
It is the nearer Italian city to the Republic of San Marino, to which it is connected with a speedway built with American funds after the second world war on the layout of the old street to console, that crosses the town territory of Coriano, before reaching Customs (RSM), first place after the border of State. The coast introduces him as a wide beach, whose waters are very low and therefore particularly proper for the bathing.
